James Otto, BS

Coach, Case Manager

My Role

As a Coach at redpoint Seattle, I am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate meaningful life transitions and work toward building fulfilling, independent lives. I enjoy partnering with clients as they develop the confidence, skills, and strategies needed to pursue their personal, educational, vocational, and community goals.

My work focuses on helping clients strengthen executive functioning skills, build and maintain healthy relationships, increase self-advocacy, and successfully navigate educational, workplace, and community environments. I am particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals as they identify their strengths, overcome challenges, and create paths that align with their values, interests, and aspirations.

Through previous peer support and mentoring roles in my hometown of Bend, Oregon, I gained valuable experience working alongside youth and young adults navigating school, employment, mental health services, and other important life transitions. These experiences continue to shape my strengths-based, person-centered approach to coaching.

Working Style

I believe meaningful growth happens through authentic connection, collaboration, and self-discovery. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward the life they want to build.

Every individual brings unique strengths, experiences, and goals to the coaching relationship. I take a collaborative approach, working alongside clients to identify what matters most to them while developing practical strategies that support success in daily life. Whether someone is pursuing educational goals, entering the workforce, building relationships, increasing independence, or navigating a major life transition, I strive to provide a steady, grounding presence throughout the journey.

I recognize that periods of change can bring uncertainty, stress, and anxiety. By combining encouragement, accountability, and individualized support, I help clients build confidence, develop resilience, and move toward greater independence, self-awareness, and overall well-being.

Beyond redpoint

Outside of redpoint, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, attending concerts, skateboarding, reading, and snowboarding.
